We’ve been told that money doesn’t grow on trees when the irony is that it’s the only place it ever has. In more ways than one; when we burn the trees that breathe for us, we bite the hand that feeds us.
We Have To Act Now
According to Conservation.org, every single minute around 36 football fields worth of trees are lost due to deforestation. A number so staggering that, if kept at the same pace, could lead to the complete loss the rainforests within 100 years – taking with it 28,000 species into premature extinction. This is a sobering thought considering 20% of the world’s oxygen is generated from the Amazon Rainforest alone.
A Sustainable Future
The true scarcity we now face is sustainability, the lack of it and that’s not okay. Environmentally responsible processes are no longer a luxury. We are the change we’ve been waiting for and it’s already started. Forests Without Frontiers, a UK based non-profit organization is planting seeds… many of them. With an aim to plant 1 million trees by 2025, they’ve identified hundreds of hectares of fertile land, prime for their tree planting ambition. Now you too can be a part of this change.
