Seeds. It’s a game. It’s not a game. It’s a currency, a token, a potential. It’s decentralized, fractioned, intentional, emerging, potent, hibernating, hypothetical. It’s manifest vision held collectively, collaboratively. It’s gaining coherence through time, rooting where it will and does. It’s unlike any other token I have encountered in my journey through web3 to literally save LaLa Gardens, now LaLa Gardens Cooperative. In the Seeds ecosystem from early 2021, I have been the voice for the place, LaLaGardens# , seeing my role within the ecosystem as a real garden in which to practice the economy, ecology, governance and culture. It is in gratitude to a small passionate group of people within the larger garden of Seeds, that I emerge as TinaT#, member of a cooperative that is pilot to many Web3 iterations including Regen Civics as a repeatable model for other small homesteads and privately owned residences, gardens and farms to do the same, and Seeds is alive and well in this garden, having survived conditions of time, place and condition.
Seeds as a currency and community caught my eye early in 2021 from something mentioned in the NFT and alternative currency Clubhouse rooms (Audio App, centric to Apple users at the time) by Vishal, an early vocal adapter of Seeds. I got an invitation, sent my minute-long video, downloaded the passport, got vouched and admitted to the academy, cruised and calculated the Discord topics to find my tribe. To become a Seedizen and Ambassador of Seeds. At the age of 61, as a gardener at home in soil, not meetings and calendars, no small feat.
I liked the vision. It matched what I as a gardener understand of Natural Law.
I liked earning Seeds.
I liked most of the circles I joined, at least at first.
Early activities seemed to be in areas of onboarding, organizing, implementing Hypha tools, mostly volunteer-led, Seeds receiving through proposals, with great enthusiasm and intentions. It was as if we had all found ourselves within a unique, potent bubble of potential…within a seed itself, a heightened gathering of forces, there to do great works, with a game-guide, Hypha net-worked, allied within our own organizations and projects.
Many in Seeds arrived via the visionary architecture that was the ‘game of seeds’, as I understand, genesised from the brain of Reiki; Athena-esque to bring us into a new world where regenerative works express through a currency of inherent value. And it was this value we were tasked to put into articulation. I, as a garden in crisis, was there to put these new concepts into motion with a map still wet, still emerging into visibility. Too early for case study.
Maybe it’s true to say, putting Seeds into practice has been longer than most of us anticipated and has, post horizon-event of the recent crypto-crash, been a realigning saving grace. The seed-coat has remained intact, not yet split by emergent cotyledons; a membrane that has kept us stable, safe and grounded. This Seed is viable to root. This new world includes a leveled crypto playground that can’t be for speculation and profit alone, can only be fed by true regenerative practice, and at the speed of trust.
How I earned my Seeds:
I was in the 5th session or cohort for the Ambassador training, a member of RE (Regenerative Explorers) with many of my fellow ambassadors.
I took a Regenerative University training, received 5,555 seeds under a creative pop-up Seeds funding program put forth by Daya and received gratitude for various involvements. I joined a few DHO’s including Samara, the MOMs DHO which proved that if the founders are not being honored through a mechanism of transference, all falls apart. I am presently active in Regen Civics and other organized DHO’s & DAO’s that have emerged through the system including Regen Living, Permatours and Regen Garden. All that I am currently active in has emerged through the gained coherence of an evolving Seeds culture, informed by other Web3 relationships as well, including Kernel, Harmony, Bloom Network, Orgo, Gitcoin, etc.
My underworld travels. Yes, I’ve been on a quest to redefine ‘ownership’ to ‘Stewardship’ for quite some time (post Permaculture PDC, 2012 with Peter Bane). 2015, I learned of the blockchain, Etherium and saw in my imagination the working of NFT’s before they were articulated through the simple mechanism of ‘smart-contracts’. When NFTs emerged, I embraced the opportunity as best I could being a super early adopter (in seeking real-soil solutions for distributed ownership or redefinition towards Stewarding). I had the vision to apply what I saw to this one-acre garden that was calling to be allowed its successional sovereignty as a natural garden, as All is in the Small.
Small demonstrations over time lead to pattern recognition necessary for regenerative pathways to emerge. Not a speculative practice. One rooted in healthy soil. I knew that the ‘ethers’ of web3 and our virtual gatherings had to be rooted in real places with real hydrated, life-giving soil or it would all disintegrate into the sky like clouds over a desert.
This last year and a half has taught me patience and perseverance, not traits that come easy for me. Change is constant and only if we practice together and consistently will the threads of resonance, coherence and cohesion emerge as true living and evolving systems.
I never brought a proposal for vote within the Seeds ecosystem. I did write a lot, formulated an ecology of commerce that acts like project management mapping, created garden and on-line games, brought a pre proposal through the ambassador training that still resonates as the first steps we are co-creating, called Audio-Rising. It offers a prompt by which we step first with our imagination rather than theory, into the new world.
From my travels in Seeds, I defined for myself (as did many others at the same time), what is most immediate in any gathering, that of honoring conflict. Conflict as defined by Maria Arpa, is what happens anytime two or more humans gather. We can all call forth the various timbres of conflict we have experienced within Seeds. May they always remain visible to be harvested from. NeilT# is bringing Maria’s course of conflict transmutation to Seeds and to LaLa Gardens Cooperative specifically as an onboarding exercise in creating the communication patterns necessary to allow tensions to be a nurturing force. There will be adjustments and calibrations, RNA signaling feedback loops as we ground in more actual places and in communities that have been till now mostly face-to-face. We will need to call on the lessons we’ve learned as cloud dwellers, translating etheric code to the coding of microbes and living systems. This landed coding is happening here at LaLa Gardens Cooperative. It’s working by synergy and alchemy with folks who were Seedizens first.
I offer the prompt that has been a thread from before Seeds to now: May we practice together this imagination game of manifestation:
THE PROMPT:
You woke up this morning. The sky is blue. The birds are singing.
You eventually learn all the currencies we are familiar with have no use.
You no longer carry debt. (You have passed through the veil from REVOLUTION to RENAISSANCE…. The shift has occurred.)
You’ve been gifted SEEDS and the granting of regenerative wishes: A new way of working, a new way of coming together, a new way to define what is of value.
This is an exercise of the imagination.
You are not alone.
The new TOKEN to be traded is called SEEDS.
What you know now is you choose a place within a regenerative system of support for the earth and for each other. You will be paid to do what you want as long as it’s in support of living systems. What you know is SEEDS is stable, globally recognized, and available for all regenerative projects. What would you do? For yourself…
For your family…
For your neighbors…
For your town…
For your bio region…
For EARTH…
